Privacy is no longer just a legal requirement, it is a critical component of building secure, trusted, and responsible software. This course provides developers, software engineers, architects, and technical professionals with the knowledge and practical skills needed to support GDPR compliance throughout the software development lifecycle.

Participants will learn the fundamentals of GDPR, including lawful bases for processing personal data, data subject rights, the roles of controllers and processors, and how to identify personal data within technical solutions. The course also explores developer responsibilities when designing applications, databases, APIs, logs, and third-party integrations.

Building on these foundations, the course introduces the seven Privacy by Design (PbD) principles and demonstrates how to apply them in real-world development projects. Through practical architecture examples, case studies, and lessons learned from major GDPR violations, learners will discover how to reduce privacy risks, implement privacy controls, and create systems that respect user rights by default. 

By the end of the course, participants will be able to identify privacy risks, recognize personal data in systems, apply GDPR-aligned development practices, and design privacy-centric applications and architectures.
